Hyundai patrol cars for Chennai police - Easy Drive Forum

The next time you break the law in Chennai, prepare yourself to be caught by the Chennai police in a swanky car – thanks to Hyundai.

The Hyundai Motor India presented the Chennai City Police Force with 100 Accents that will be their new patrol vehicles.

The police say they will now be able to respond to distress calls from citizens in less than three minutes.

The cars will soon have digital cameras to catch traffic violations and crime scenes on video.

The keys to the cars were handed over by HMIL Managing Director H S Lheem to Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at a function in Chennai on Tuesday.

Union Communications and IT Minister Dayanidhi Maran was also present.

An HMIL release said the company recognised the importance of managing the ever growing traffic on Indian roads.

"The initiative of donating vehicles to the Chennai Police is a bid to help the Tamil Nadu government to improve local traffic conditions," it said.

So now think twice before you decide to break the speed limit.

Good one...One more thing i would like to share with you people..High speed vehicles for police in Tamil Nadu is not new. The previous government under AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa gave Toyota Qualis for police patrol operations. Let's see
