IN A representation to the Ministry of Defence (MoD), the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has submitted a decongestion plan for the PalamRao Tula Ram (RTR) Junction. The NHAI has proposed diversions for traffic coming to Dhaula Kuan from Gurgaon and the domestic airport. And for Dwarka-bound traffic: skip the Palam-RTR junction. These diversions would minimise vehicle movement on this stretch to facilitate construction of the flyover and ease congestion here. The NHAI has sought MoD's help in the implementation of its plan and sought land from it for the slip roads that would divert traffic from the Palam junction for six months.
