| Delhi The capital, seat of political power, the satta game! Republic and Independence day parades. Golgappes. Punjabi Dhaba khana! Chandni Chowk, 10 Janpath! Cheap affordable housing. HOT SCORCHING summers, COLD CHILLING winters. Pollution. Not very friendly neighbors, Chai in earthern pots! Ambassadors (cars here!). Black Cats! Sonia Gandhi! Road Rage, Traffic Jams, but how good is the traffic sense here? |

New Delhi Bans Smoking While Driving
A city court has banned smoking while driving in India's capital in what is believed to be the first measure of its kind in any major city worldwide.
Declaring “New Delhi roads dangerous to human life,” the city's High Court imposed new measures aimed at deterring habitually bad drivers. The prohibitions include a smoking ban as well as using cells while behind the wheel. Quote:

I think ban on smoking in private vehicles is not fair. How can a chain smoker manage himself without smoking for a long time, especially when he/she is on an hour-long journey to office or any other place? I think it will be better if it should be completely ban in public transportation vehicles. This law is hard to digest.

First of all smoking poses serious health risks. Including the smoking ban and a prohibition on using s while behind the wheel. Anything that distracts the concentration of driver is dangerous. The human mind cannot do two things at the same time.
