HOT SCORCHING summers, COLD CHILLING winters. Pollution. Not very friendly neighbors, Chai in earthern pots! Ambassadors (cars here!). Black Cats! Sonia Gandhi! Road Rage, Traffic Jams, but how good is the traffic sense here? |

Naraina Traffic Woes to End Quote:
![]() The project will provide 12 lanes of effective road space on Ring Road a six-lane flyover and threelaned service roads on running under it on either side to ease the congestion at the intersection, which, according to a study, sees more than 13,400 Passenger Car Units (PCUs) passing through it per hour during peak traffic time. The figure is expected to grow to 22,780 PCUs by 2025. The study also indicated that more than 90 per cent of this traffic moves straight on Ring Road, causing a bottleneck. The authorities are planning to keep all right turns at the crossing closed during the day and open them at night for heavy vehicles. For light vehicles which need to take right turns, three split rotaries or U-turns have been provided under the flyover. These vehicles will have to use the U-turn provided ahead of the intersection and then take a left to get to their destination. On Ring Road, concrete medians will be created at the openings of the U-turns to avoid conflict between vehicles coming coming out from the Uturns with those moving straight on Ring Road. Unlike other projects on Ring Road which have proved to be nightmares for pedestrians like flyovers at AIIMS and Dhaula Kuan this project includes a Y-shaped pedestrian subway running under the crossing. The subway will have two openings on Naraina side and one across Ring Road. The other problem with flyovers that of bus stops has also been solved by the creation of bus bays on top of the flyover. The width of the flyover will be increased on the top so that buses can stop there for passengers. The bus bays will be connected to foot overbridges on either side fitted with escalators and ramps. The escalators will end near the openings of the Y-shaped subway. For the first time, noise and dust barriers are being put on on the sides of the flyover to minimise inconvenience to people living near it. The Naraina crossing is located adjacent to a residential colony. For aesthetic beauty, the area under the flyover will be landscaped. There is provision for rain water harvesting too. ![]() The flyover is being constructed at a cost of Rs 119.76 crore, said Ravi Mathur, project manager, Public Works Department (PWD), who is looking after it. To save time and inconvenience at the site, the top slab of the flyover will be fabricated at another location and just put up on site. This naraina project was started since 2006 and it was committed by Delhi govt. to comlete it next 2 years , i think PWD don't want to beat the DMRC to complete the project on time, the PWD and government only try to find the money making procedures to fill there pockets and they do not concern to care of citizens.
I also cross this way daily for Gurgaon and i and my family members always pray for me to ever keep living but i think me and my other friends those go through this way specially bikers face with this fight daily to cross Naraina flyover and pray to prepare this bridge. Some bikers go from wrong side that is totally risky for accident and may if your bad luck a traffic policeman can come in your way and can take some bribe to go from there. So it is my kind request to CM , central government to ready this flyover asap to make traffic dicipline healthy. |
