600 vehicles fined on Gurgaon E-way
GURGAON: Giving momentum to its drive launched a week ago, the Gurgaon traffic police challaned over 600 two-wheelers, three-wheelers, tractors and trolleys on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway on Friday. These vehicles, prohibited on the main carriageway, can be seen moving about freely in the absence of any preventive mechanism. However, city traffic police seems to be coming in the action. DCP (traffic) Satinder Gupta said, "These vehicles be discouraged from coming on the main carriageway only by issuing challans. The drive will continue till such vehicles stop moving on the expressway.'' He added that signboards will also be installed asking two-wheelers, three-wheelers and slow moving traffic to keep to the service roads only. 14 Mar 2009, TOI |
