Should The Driving Age In India Be Lowered
SHOULD THE DRIVING AGE IN INDIA BE LOWERED ...............OR SHOULD DRVING AGE IN THE U.S BE RAISED ????????????????
In India you can get a drving license at the age of 18 years only. When you turn in to an adult , thats when you can vote , marry , drive , drink and do all the things an adult can !! Although thats the legal driving age , you often see kids below that age taking out there parents car and taking it for a spin !! While in the U.S , you can get a license at the young age of 15 years ( although it has restriction). And a proper license at the age of 16 years ! Although , my question is also, do you think age - 15 - 16 years is too low for a person to drive . Thats the age when most kids aren't mature enough to be often rationale. Thats the age when you tend to go over the speed limit , and love doing a "dare" like driving with one hand , or hit and run , drink and drive ,etc etc !! It is said , driving is not a right ..........but a priveldege , so use it judaciously !! Meaning , as a driver you are not in a wonderdfull machine that gets you from A - B point , but it can be a killing machine too if misused .!! So lets have your opinion , SHOULD INDIA LOWER ITS DRIVING AGE .........OR U.S RAISE ITS DRIVING AGE !!!!! |

in USA, you can get driving liscence at 16.
I think India has a GREAT age for getting a liscence. At 18 you are more responsible and won't do dumb things and result in an accident |

well...if u r responsible and capable license can be given at 15 or 16yrs.It is not necessary that at 18 the license will be given...coz u r adult and so on.
Once u think u can take the charge...i feel age is not a matter |

i agree... age does not really matter... what matters is matureness... u can be mature at 15, or 29... so i dont think that it really matters. Besides, more people get into accidents that teens.. (i will post the article) so why dont they ban them from getting a DL?.. i think that the driving age in india and america should remain the same.

I think that 18 is good age and I know that in Canada the government is thinking of raising the driving age of 16 to 18 by next year.

well 18 is considered mature but even at 18 u may not have the maturity. But at 18 if u do wrong u can be punishable....15 16 is too young to land up in cell.
so agree with LFR ....18 perfect

i think US has to lower their driving age thing by like 2 or 3 years, because teenagers at the age of 16 who get their license have no clue about the world because they break speed laws n do accidents n drive uncarefully and i really think india has a great driving age-->18, because thats when u turn from teenager to adulthood and u get to know n understand things better

The legal driving age should be raised to 20 because most teens are not grown-up enough to handle the responsibilities of driving so the driving age should be raised.

What about those who are more than 20 years old and having numbers of years of driving exp.? Are they driving responsibly on roads? I think the current scene of our road traffic doesn’t indicate that.

I agree with u prem
the real truth is CHANGE THE PEOLPE WHO ISSUE LICENCES they are the most CORRUPT resulting in many road ills and responsible for several innocent people dying at the hands of untrained and ruthless drivers who have never been taught how to drive. |

RTO is among the most corrupt departments of India and another one is PWD who constructs poor roads.

Driving age should be raised... about under the age of 18 a part of their brain isn't devolped fully and it has to do with something that may prevent making the right choices when driving, causing more accidents.

hey
well i too think dat 18 is a great age to start drivin........but den so is 16...... according to me age is not really d most imp factor here coz des days kids learn how to drive much before dey r supposed to......... wats imp is to instill in every driver the realization dat wen dey r on d road...... they r responsible to protect their lives and dat of the passengers but also other vehicles and inocent perestrians........ if we all played our part, dis world wud be a safer place to live in.

i m completely agree with u mr dsilva. How we can expect from our teens for safe driving bcoz many of the parents who dont know or dont care about the rules to follow on road...and they encourage their children breaking rules all the time.

If one forks out a few thousand rupees one can not get a driving license. Now if one has to spend so much money on bribe, why should anybody spend additional money to learn driving and traffic rules? |

Until & unless corruption will not remove from our govt. departments we can’t see any change in any field whether it is traffic or any other.
