I think in India age for driving license is absolutely fine.If we increase it ,the people won't agree and if we decrease it ,cases of rash driving and accident will increase.

Great question; and one which has been debated a lot. It is critically important that "kids" get experience, but the question is what age are they generally responsible enought to be 'in charge' of a potentially lethal vehicle?
Some children are responsible and mature enough to begin 'learner' driving at 15 but I personally would not like to see 15 year olds driving solo. There is a counter argument that at 18 youth are "over confident" and can take risks. My opinion (for what it is worth) is that youth should be allowed to start their Learner Driving at 15 or 16 under supervision by a fully licenced driver. And at 18 (only after demonstrating a minimum number of driving hours experience) they should then get a licence. Mick - www.trafficnetwork.in |
