In India both the drivers and pedestrians are responsible for the road rage. Drivers can be pedestrians and pedestrians can be drivers. Though the drivers are erratic and break the rules often in India the pedestrians and hawkers sometimes occupy the road stopping the vechicle movement in many places.

The slow moving vechiles like rickshaws , carts and cycles add problem to the fast vechiles in the highways. They hardly notice and bother that it is a main road for vehicle movement and not shopping area. Overall we need a punishing system both for drivers and pedestrians, only then we can be somewhere near to the other countries.

u r right apurva.

At the time of driving we take no notice of to the fellow drivers and the pedestrians. The stress of our fast paced life is to be blamed. And of course the bad traffic management by the traffic police and the road infrastructure share the blame too.

Drive defensively. Aggressive or unreliable driving can infuriate other drivers and put you and others in danger. Even if you’re not breaking any laws, weaving in and out of lanes and stopping or accelerating quickly can bring you unwanted attention from traffic police.

We have forgotten the Lucknowi andaz "Pehle aap". It has now become "Pehle Hum" even if it means running somebody over.

The road sense is a big zero in India.

Almost not anything makes a different driver angrier than an obscene gesture. Avoid making any gestures that might anger another driver. Be a cautious and well-mannered driver, for instance if you and another driver see a parking place at the same time, let that person have it.

The key to resolving road rage is actually following traffic rules. Visit any country in the west or in the middle east or even south east asia for that matter and you will find people with impeccable lane discipline. You will never find anyone jaywalking and only occassionally at night would you find the rare stray drunk driver jumping a signal. Have you ever seen an India driver waiting for the signal to go green when there is no traffic on the roads?! And that infact is where the genesis of road rage lies. The day we ensure that we follow all traffic rules, road rage will come down. The growing number of vehicles will mean traffic jams, and therefore some road rage. But most of it will just evaporate. We need to learn patience, but most importantly the respect for law needs to return to this country's roads.

Take care and drive safely / cross the road where its safe / and be polite on road. It will surely help you atleast, if not others.

We regularly hearing/witnessing the accidents due to reckless driving, reckless crossing of roads etc. The root cause of all this is the no fear for law.

No amount of education can also help in this aspect like accidents by Celebrities (Salman Khan and many others). They were all educated and very well aware of the road manners. They were also aware that with the money and connections at the top, they can go scot free. So the need of the hour is severe and quick punishment for not abiding with the traffic rules.

The only way by the Indian can learn-A good kick in the back.
