I am on my business trip in Mumbai. This time I was lucky enough to get a personal car for local commuting. Last time the story was somewhat different, but the plight was the same. One can easily site taxi drivers discussing their experiences with commuters with the fellow drivers. A Strong Bondage indeed. Blame them of overcharging and they refute back by saying “Big Business people also cheat, never heard anybody complaining them”. One can easily spot taxi drivers parking in double lanes outside the shopping malls; now don’t raise the question – why?
But, problems do not end here. These drivers do not care for other people’s cars. If caught in an accident they try to flee away by saying – “Hum to garib log hein”. Somebody ask them, is poverty a license to damage the others? Or is it a short cut to make more money? Some drivers annoy by crawling along the kerbs especially, on narrow roads. Taxis can be easily spotted parked at the turns, so the driver has to wade through the bandwagon of the already parked taxis.
IMO, drivers have all decided to contribute to road rage in this way.
