I feel that the main cause of increasing number of road accidents is increasing population and increased traffic due to increase in number of vehicles, especially in India.

Two wheelers are most affected as they travel wherever there is way in a congested road.

I would like to share some of my suggestions to prevent road accidents. These are my preliminary ideas. Anyone can work on it and improve it so that it can be made practical.

1. Autos come in world-class design, comfort etc. The manufactures can include some additional safety measures. Even some outer covering with considerable thickness made of shock proof material, cushion etc, which can spread 10 or 20 cm all around the outer of vehicle can be done. This will not only give less impact during collision but also prevent collision between vehicles by avoiding close contact.

2. Some magnetic repellents can be fixed on the vehicles, so that collision is prevented. Engineers can work on it.

3. Scientists can invent on infra-red signals or other applications for this purpose, and whenever there is any objects or vehicles very nearby or around the vehicle, a warning signal can be made as an alert.

3. Pedestrians are also affected. So the safety measures have to be tightened. We should increase the number of zebra crossings on the roads.

4. Some safety stocking, which could cover from head to leg can be made for this purpose and can be worn by all while travelling, especially pedestrians and cyclists who are more prone to fall on the concrete road. This stocking can be used while driving in two wheeler too. I feel it is a preventive measure and there may some hesitation with public but it is good rather than suffering after the accident had happened.

5. More public awareness has to created with regards to safety and people should not consider using the road as take it for granted.

6. Cycles must have rear view mirrors to alert on approaching vehicle from side.

I do not how far my suggestions are good, but it is my wish that road accidents must reduce and people should be safe guarded against it.

firstly I should say managing the traffic is the need of the hour
secondly I would like to say the need of the hour is traffic education and the
do's and d'not
thirdly In our country importance is not given for the license as it is been
sold and passed through the correct channel.
fourthly the law enforcing agencies do not having enough will to pro-cute
since they are either corrupt or goodwill of the politicians or
instruction from the top brass
