Looking at The Indian Road Traffic

The traffic situation in India is worsening day by day. There is no doubt that driving in India is becoming a major problem. The traffic authorities in India are constantly working to make things better but it is not possible for them to be successful without public cooperation. There is little that they can do alone. The Indian road traffic needs to be improved and we all need to work towards this goal.

There are many traffic safety rules In India but we often forget to follow them. In our hurry to reach our destination early, we do not hesitate to jump a red light or over take form the wrong side. At such moments we should think about all those whom we love and those who love us. A slight negligence can lead to a major disaster.

Along with this, there is a growing number of incidents of road rage in India. This is more so in big cities. Be it traffic in Bangalore or Delhi traffic, there are many instances of motorists having either been physically assaulted or threatened with weapons by drivers. Looking at the entire scenario, we need to sit back and think what is it that we can do to improve the situation. Road safety in India has to be a combination from both civilians and traffic authorities. The traffic safety in India is a major issue that has to be dealt carefully. Considering the driving trend in major metros, be it Mumbai or Chennai, look at some of the tips that might help each one of us.

• Ensure that you are seated comfortable before you start driving.
• Always use your seat belt up in the back.
• Check your vehicle before you pick up speed.
• Observe the weather condition and drive accordingly.
• Don't use your when driving. It diverts your attention.
• Never mix drinking and driving. This can really be dangerous.
• Keep a check on your speed. Always strict to speed limits.
• Take care of children, senior citizens and pedestrians.
• Don't drive if tired. This distracts you from concentrating on driving.
• Always observe and anticipate other road users.
• Maintain proper distances.
• Always wear helmets if moving on a two-wheeler.
• Do not change lane every now and then.
• Always keep your vehicle towards left.
