On August 30,2009 I was travelling from Bareilly to Dehradun by car to meet my 7 year daughter in the hostel. We could meet her from 9 am in the morning to 6 pm in the evening so we woke up at 3 in the morning and rushed to Dehradun. Around 8.30 there was a group of about 3 to 4 cars with loud sirens and guards peeping out from the cars and waiving guns at public vehicles to give way. At a point where we kind of slowed down this motor cade overtook us but OK we kept moving for 15 to 20 minutes. Their speed was very slow so we decided, to avoid getting late we should overtake them and get to the school on time. The guards in the Car peeped out , hurled abuses at us and also pointed their guns on us. But them being slow we overtook them and took our way only to be stopped by the Police at Dehradun Jogiwala because they said we intercepted VIP security of Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh. I was with my one year old son, wife and my brother in laws 7 year old daughter. We were made to wait at that station for about 2 hours and harrassed like criminals. I was told that the Chief Justice had personally called the Police and conveyed the Number of my Car and so they had to detain me for sure and also take whatever action . My driver was booked and his driving License was seized and after a long ordeal me and my family was allowed to leave.
I would like to know that will the Public of India be so terrorized and harrassed for the VIP movements on Public Roads.
