It is imperative that we improve Indian roads and make them safer. The public and the traffic department must be better informed. Who will take the initiative to remedy all the ills?

Helmets are mandatory only for male two-wheeler riders/pillions in Gujarat. What about women and children? Seat belts are mandatory for car drivers in Gujarat. What about the front seat passengers? Don’t they need protection in case of a collision? Some people remove their seat belts as soon as they hit the highway. Auto rickshaws and truck/bus drivers tend to be reckless. What about their seatbelts?

The Tempo Trax and Mahindra Armada ferry 15 passengers when the official capacity is 10. What is the traffic cops doing? Looking at the other way after having their palms greased, most probably!
