Video 14: Low beams or High beams?
One feature of driving in India is the lack of understanding on when to use the vehicles headlights. Often drivers don't use any lights even when it is dark, on other hand, some use the high beam even in built up urban areas. This short video hopefully will help create awareness amongst drivers on when and where to use the low or high beams. This is vital as correct use of lights can avert accidents.
Note: Never flash your high beam to indicate another driver that he/she is using high beam. Imagine blinding each other, it's an invitation for head-on collision. Dr Joglekar |

you must dip your headlights to low beam when a vehicle coming toward you is within 200 meters and when driving 200 meters or less behind another vehicle. Don't drive with high beam on during the day.

Totally agree, its low beam or dipped lights during day time / twilight phase and in built up areas with street lights.
High beams on some cars are very powerful, reaching over 500 feet, if one is driving such a car, then the 200 meters advise holds true. |
