riskd lfe to take that vid

It may be suicidal but whoever has taken that video highlights something that most of the officials sitting in their comfy offices or comfy chauffer driven cars are ignorant about. Can you imagine a child or a disabled person trying to cross the road. Pedestraians need more crossings and mororists need to give them more respect. Can I use that video on my website?

No surprise

This video can’t raise the eyebrows of any Indian pedestrian because this is the common way to cross the road in our country.

Crossing a Road in India (HOW??)
Don’t wait for the whole road to be empty and walk straight through (that will never happen) it's simply to walk it in parts standing in the middle of the round until the next part empties.

Warning: Crossing a road in such a manner might be harmful for you.

Cool

Did any person notice that there are no lane stripes at all on that road? it seems that, you just drive anywhere you want in India.

Here is another one....

Wait for a bunch of pedestrians to gather together, then charge to the other side of the road. Vehicles will have to stop automatically if they get near you.

Warning Keep yourself between the bunch.

Yes it is very 'common' and 'safe' (If you lies in the middle of the bunch) approach.

Cool

This is for pedestrians... If you want to cross the road, DON’T use the traffic lights or zebra crossings. This means certain death! Find a crowd of Indian people going in your direction, plant yourself right in the middle of them and move when they do. The law of averages means that you have a good chance of survival.

It always works out crossing diagonally in moving traffic and making a step further with every vehicle passing by. esp in high traffic areas with slow traffic, It works pretty well.

but it becomes tough when the roads are pretty wide and traffic is fast.

The public will behave according to the kind of facilities provided. On most Delhi main roads, pedestrians often have to walk up to two or three kilometres to cross medians. This shows scant respect for commoners.

As a pedestrian, I always pray to God, while I start from home to office, to give well manner to the motorists bcoz they don't stop their vehicles on zebra crossings which meant for pedastrians to cross the roads.

Often Police become victims while stopping these rude riders.

Cool

I have been relearning how to cross the road… Cross with certainty. Pedestrians are the most vulnerable group of road users. The highest percentage of casualties is in the ten to fourteen age groups. Do not cross in places where traffic cannot see you.

In case you are crossing a road, stop there and wait for the traffic on the other side to stop before you continue to cross. However, in case you have a foot-bridge or subway close by, don't feel lazy to climb up or go down. They are the safest way to cross a road.
