There are many drivers/riders on the roads of Bangalore and an equal number of missing footpaths on the main roads.(Even if foot paths are present they are "meant"
for the vehicles). In smaller roads and bylanes there are no decent roads in the first place so the question of footpath doesn't even rise.As a result there are pedestrains all over the road( on the sides, trying to cross the road wherever they want)I am quite sure on an average out of 10 drivers/riders, at least 7 of them would have cursed a pedestrain while driving or just missed an accident being caused by a pedestrain or had an accident due to a pedestrain. The Indian roads "unsaid and unspoken" rules will always sympathize with a pedestrain and not with the "person on a vehicle". (I guess there are very rare occassions where a pedestrain is found guilty of causing an accident.) The rules of driving are DRIVE ON THE LEFT OF THE ROAD. But when did this rule apply to the pedestrains. You can see practically 99% of the pedestrains walking on the LEFT SIDE of the road. PEDESTRAINS ARE SUPPOSED TO WALK ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD. There is a logical reason behind this. The pedestrains while walking on the right side of the road will be able to see the oncoming vehicle traffic and avoid causing accidents. I hope there is some manner by which I could educate the pedestrains about this basic RULE, which everyone follows "blindly and in a wrong manner".

Similar situation in Delhi.. In Delhi there are number of Subways for pedestrians to cross the road but very few pedestrians (Mainly old age persons) use them mostly pedestrian avoided these subways they run between the running traffic to cross the road ASAP without caring about their as well as other's life. In our country traffic cops always keep eye on faulty riders and drivers but they never care about such faulty pedestrians. In my views such faulty pedestrians should also be penalized. Wot says..?? What about the overtaking side...in that case...??
In India, we are supposed to overatke from Right, RIGHT?? So, what if the pedestrians is unaware of the velocity the vehicle is appoaching him/her?? and that too from behind?
