Bangalore
The garden city, set dosa, the largest population Kannada speaking Tamils, Malleshwaram, MG, Kemp Fort, Software, no water, pubs, Vidhan Soudha, Vivesvaraya, spanking clean, sweet, relaxed, greatest weather. Techies who know the right rules to flirt. Silicon valley of India. But how MNCs, outsourcing and corporate culture is shaping the infrastructure of the city?

A call for better road sense

As the number of vehicles goes up along with the city’s population, safety fears too rise due to pressure on old roads. These fears could be addressed if road users follow rules.

Even as Bangalore's population has grown to 80 lacs, there are 40 lac vehicles on roads. So for every second citizen, there is a vehicle plying

Nevertheless, our roads are still the ones that were built during Kempegowda’s time. They are unable to accommodate the number of vehicles.

It is the responsibility of citizens to ensure their own safety. Children should remind their parents of the safety steps to be followed on roads.

Most road users are not afraid of the fines for traffic violations. It is only when the traffic police are around and they use abusive language that they heed to their warnings.

Drivers who use footpaths to get ahead of others are hardly saving time by this dangerous act. Even if you get on the footpath, how much ever you speed, the maximum amount of time you can save is five minutes. Why not simply follow rules and ensure the safety of everyone.
