Lightbulb Metal Bumps on the Streets

The city has already been bugged by bad roads and another new problem add to it that seems to have surfaced is that at many places in the city the underground pipelines have abruptly resurfaced, thereby creating a hindrance for the motorist.

One such pipeline is seen on the Greenview Signal and if not noticed by the motorist, could turn out to be dangerous for the rider causing him to topple.

Well such pipelines especially the small one, can be bad for the vehicles, crashing onto it.

Another such pipeline above the road was seen at Shantinath Nagar, Off Gurudwara road, which was a good two inches above the road level.

Authorities from the concerned department of the Corporation inform that if they come to know about any such problem they immediately take the necessary action. But in many such cases the pipelines are laid down by individuals, at times without authentic permission. And if such pipelines are abruptly removed then they can cause more trouble. Also the service road leading towards Kannamwar Bridge from Dwarka has similar sort of pipeline surfacing on the road.

These metal bumps should be taken care of before they take off some serious problem around.

Hopes Await to be Fulfilled

Few days back has been a tough time for the citizens of the city. The reasons are so evident. The arrival of the political figures, and a major yoga workshop has completely stirred the daily routine of public, so much so that their arrival doesn’t really create an excitement but a ’not again’ feeling. At such times, when the authorities and police officials are exerting, as it seems to be, as rightful citizens of the city, what expectations should we keep?

Read what people Say:

Atul Sugandhi, a Finance Executive, opines, "I strongly feel that the traffic should be managed very systematically. But sadly, the police officials aren’t able to cope up with the crowd. So they should increase their force to avoid rash driving and traffic jams. I also suggest that the traffic police should be posted for longer duration in the evenings and also the signals should function till late hours. More than the police, the NMC should take care whenever we have pravachan (religious lectures) in the city or any political gathering, as they leave the city very dirty."

Arvind Aware, a Consultant, feels, "With VIPs coming in the city, the people shouldn’t be disturbed. Mainly the traffic needs to be handled properly on such occasions. Moreover, sanitation is not followed at all. The rules laid down for lessening noise pollution are conveniently not followed; the loud speakers are played at their fullest volume. I don’t think we are expecting too much from our police officials. It’s their duty." He further adds, "If the political personalities are working for the cause of the public, why is such high expenses carried out on publicity stunts like hoardings? Each one costs nothing less than Rs 15000. There are too many hoardings unnecessarily erected. I don’t see any reason in wasting so much money for this purpose."

Usha Mahesh, a senior officer of Insurance Company, points out, "The police officials need to do justice by dividing their manpower for the politicians and the public. I feel that more than the politicians; it’s the general public who needs more security. Political figures have power to achieve things. The police needs to concentrate on us more than the politicians, especially, when they come to the city."

At the same time, Sachin, a resident of Ambad area, feels, "I never came across any traffic problem due to improper parking or jammed traffic."

The presence of these politicians and workshops has made the lots of traffic problems for local citizens.
