Kozhikode Traffic Police in Action! - Easy Drive Forum

To curb the traffic law violation and traffic offences in the Kozhikode city, traffic police took an initiative. In the drive they penalised over 250 persons for various offences in just one week.

According to the stats of Kizhikode Traffic Police:
144 motorists were charged for violating traffic rules on Sunday alone. Cases were registered against two persons for drunken driving and six persons for reckless driving. About 20 persons were booked for over-speeding and 37 booked for not displaying the registration number properly.

Most importantly around 1000 stickers were pasted on vehicles to cause problem to the pedestrain users. If they fail to submit the fine or penality imposed on them in due time then the case will move on to the court.

This enforcement drive was the result of the increasing accidents in the Kerala in last 6 months. According to the recent statistics Kerala is in top five states in India in traffic related accidents.

Once again Kozhikode officials or more precisely the Kozhikode Traffic Police are on the front foot or attacking mode against the people who violate the Traffic Laws. So as to improve the traffic flow in the city Police is taking stern steps against the bus drivers who stop at bus bays longer than the time allotted to them.

Many private buses used to stay longer than the time allotted to them at busy junctions leading to Traffic Jam's. Steps will be taken to register a case under Section 283 (danger or obstruction in public way) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as cancelling the permit given to the buses.

Also a case will be registered against the buses who are found running on routes other than the allotted one.

So we can hope to have a better traffic flow in Kozhikode in the coming time.
