Lucknow
Regarded as one of the finest cities of India, Lucknow represents a culture that combines emotional warmth, a high degree of sophistication, courtesy and a love for gracious living. Lucknow, 'the golden city of the east' is struggling to retain the old world charm with growing population and traffic chaos. Will the present day road condition and traffic plight of the city put the Nizams and Nawabs of yore at shame?

Smile Impressive plea can help avoid helmet

If you hate wearing helmets while driving and want to escape the traffic cops, come up with a plea to impress them.

Sample this, a cop checking registration papers of a scooterist was left dumbstruck when reminded of the fact that man was not wearing a helmet. However, when the man extended his logic, “It is getting hot now and wearing a helmet is a problem”, the cop was easily convinced.

“Helmet is necessary for their personal safety and one cannot be forced to wear it. In summers it would be difficult to see even a single person with a helmet,” was the version of the cop.No wonder there are more people without a helmet on roads than with it. If things are not enough, cops have their peculiar way of conducting a drive. The common complain being that cops order drivers to stop in the middle of a road. A harried commuter said, “When you start from the other side of the crossing they would not stop you for anything but when you reach mid-way, they would challan you for breaking the traffic rules.”

However, when contacted superintendent of police (traffic), RK Srivastav said, “It is not about stopping people in the middle of the road. When we ask people to stop they try to escape. So, we try to stop them forcibly.

Amazing.. ….probably in future anyone can request to traffic cops if caught after jumping red light that he/she is getting late for some very urgent work so don’t issue any challans to me.
