| Hyderabad Hyderabad - Istanbul of India. Jami Masjid, Toli Masjid, the Char Minar. Hustle and bustle of market life. Golconda Fortress, tombs of the Quatab Shahi Kings. Central Library, Osmania University, Public Gardens, Osman Sagar. Colourful bazaars, traditional Muslim gear and Mughlai delicacies. Hub of IT & Telecommunications, MNCs, superspeciality hospitals, medical tourism. Pleasant climate, magnificent cuisine, Hyderabadi Biryani, splendid shopping areas. But how is this fascinating amalgam of cultures coping with the traffic and road problems? |

what have you done about it?
Many accidents take place due to poor road construction and negligent building work. For example an open man hole in the middle of the road, a killer speebreaker with no warning and a lampost left in the middle of the road. Do you think the person in charge of such negligence that has caused an accident should be brought to book? If yes, Does anyone know how to go about it? Have you done it and what was the result?
We now have the Right to Info Act. Its time someone is held accountable. Your views please. |

pot hole?
Good picture and apt for our discussion.
At the end of the chain of command in the MCH there will be one person who will be responsible for that shoddy negligence. I suggest we set up a panel to investigate the officials who are not doing their job and wasting tax payers money. Accountability has to be brought in to administration and the public are the ones who can stand together and bring about change. Officials should be named and shamed and dragged to court in case of accidents. The right to Info Act is a good tool and the public should start using it. That is one of the projects I plan to set up on my website where we will have a panel of lawyers who will take up cases. Thanks. |

Over 90 people have viewed this topic but not one person can say that they have taken a single positive step to change the situation. We are good at suggestions and blaming others. How about getting involved and not accept the substandard dished out by the authorities..Its time to act! start kicking up a ruckus if your road is in a bad state or people are not obeying the rules. Hold the authorities responsible, get the press involved and make official complaints. Remember there is a right to information Act that protects citizens.

Hi
I was out of India for about 5 years and was back now. What every the media boast about the growth and development in India is only seen at their initial stages, but all the other problems picked up rapidly than the respective response.
To a county like india, we can never meet the Western hemisphere road designs. We are supporting a 6th of the world population on a area 1/50th of the world. Traffic in India should be seen as bigger picture and a collection of issues dependent on Land Use Management, Mass Transportation avoiding roads etc may be some solutions. Too much complaining, without proper response from the authorities would burden them and the currently low productive work will still come down. |
