Drunken driving: 24/7 watch in Cyberabad from today
Getting away with drunken driving in Cyberabad will not be easy from December 1 as a 24-hour check will be put in place for a month. More than 100 transport and Cyberabad police department personnel armed with 16 digital breathanalysers will check motorists at eight check-points in Cyberabad. If found drunk, the driver will be arrested and produced in courts. The move is part of the monthlong special drive by the two departments. The transport department on Thursday procured 25 digital breath-analysers imported from UK costing Rs 20 lakh. They would be put to use from Friday to book cases of drunken driving. The check-points are located at Peddamberpet, Miyapur crossroads, Medchal crossroads, Tondapally, Ibrahimpatnam, Bodduppal crossroads, near Chilkur temple and Ghatkesar crossroads. The staff at the highway check-points in Cyberabad limits will also undertake vehicle patrolling. The offences will be recorded on camera. when i was in Pune the cops used tthe same technique and was to a large extent successfull,But it was tackled by our own,MEENAKSHI PAN!!!!!!
