Recently, Gopinath Munde had a political sabha at Laxminagar near Parvati. He and his supporters organised the event in the middle of a busy square. The traffic was, as usual, diverted through narrow bylanes causing inconvenience to all. After battling the traffic jam, I came to a crossing. There was a PMT bus just beyond the crossing. The bus driver, having no idea that the road would be blocked, had taken the bus down the road. He then realised he would have to reverse and turn down the road from which I had just come up. I was waiting to cross this road when, without warning, the bus began to reverse. I was on the right side of the bus, it was evening, and dark. The bus driver could not see me. The conductor did not bother to come to the door to see if it was safe for the bus to reverse. I very nearly got crushed under the rear wheels of the bus. I thank my guardian angel for saving me!

All this happened because politicians are allowed to treat public property as their own.

Politicians should be barred from using roads for their sabhas. There are ample grounds in Pune to accommodate politicos and their supporters.
