Do you think this SMS helpline will be helpful especially for women while commuting to and fro work at odd hours?

Any employee can send in the SMS to the number 6070, which would then be automatically forwarded to the police department.

NEW DELHI: ValueFirst, the Virtual Network Operator for data services has announced the launch of a unique SMS helpline 6070 for the security of all workingwomen today.

Chairperson of the National Commission for Women Dr Girija Vyas, unveiled the SMS helpline (6070 help) at a conference on “BPO best practices in Employee Security” in Gurgaon.

The helpline is being offered by ValueFirst as a public service for the security of women employees. In case of emergency, using this helpline, any employee can send in the SMS to the number 6070 (SMS help GNG ), which would then be automatically forwarded to the police department of Gurgaon.

The service would be available nationwide on all operators and the user will have to just type the three letter abbreviation of the city, a valueFirst statement said.

Absolutely Manoj...But such kind of facility should also be available in other major cities of India...

Employee security has become a serious concern for BPOs especially after few incidents which took place recently....Good move.
