| Mumbai City of dreams. Economic capital. Movie Magic. Marine Drive, Gateway of India, Hotel Taj, Dombivili, Mulund, Bandra. Mount Mary for those who have faith in the almighty. The UNDERWORLD. The Mumbai nightlife. The city that lives by its train timings. Dharavi, Vashi, Dadar, Colaba, Bal Thackrey, bomb blasts, Prithvi Theatre, Bhel puri, neon lights, Ganesh Chathurti. Sachin’s Ferrari.
What do you think of the traffic though? |

To say that the Perizaad Zorabian-Boman Irani wedding caused a traffic jam outside the Bandra venue would be an understatement. So much so that invitees like Shabana Azmi preferred to leave their cars outside on the road and make their way to the hotel on foot. Once inside, guests faced another traffic jam of sorts — the long, and we mean long, queue to wish the radiant couple a happy wedded life.
Wearing an off-white sequinned lace sari, Perizaad was her usual vivacious self enjoying her big day to the hilt. On the other hand, a rather shy Boman was the blushing groom as he graciously greeted guests. Making a brief appearance was Amitabh Bachchan who came in to wish Perizaad—his Ek Ajnabee co-star — despite his mother Teji Priya Dutt, Subhash Ghai and Navin Nischol who after wising the couple headed straight for the special VIP enclosure. While the live band played some lovely love songs, the 20-odd buffet counters — dishing out everything from fragrant biryani to shrimp pasta — had it’s own legion of fans. Making a happy foursome were Anusha Dandekar with Rannvijay and Asish Choudhary with wife Shamita Bangargi. Wearing a hairband to control his unruly curls was Arzaan Khambatta. Looks like the Bollywood craze for hairbands has caught on to the art world as well. Living up to their image of Mumbai’s number one colour co-ordinated couple were Suhas and Deepa Awchat who chose chinese printed raw silk for the wedding. And what a wedding! All the very best to the new Mr and Mrs Irani. Source: http://epaper.timesofindia.com (Mumbai Edition) Date Of Publish: 11-Dec-06
